SETEC 11 Leiden will be the 6th. Technical Conference and Table Top Exhibition of SAMPE Europe, and will become the first to be organized and held in the BENELUX. After the launch in 1996 in Toulouse, SETEC has been organised in Madrid, Augsburg, Filton and Brindisi, Italy in 2010. All those locations have a strong and long lasting relationship and impact on aerospace developments and their regional Aerospace Industry. It is well known that in the three countries of the BENELUX a long tradition exists, to do business in the Aerospace- and Space-Industry with important impact on their economy. This activity in research and development and industrial production is lasting over decades and is constantly evolving to respond to the latest state-of-the-art and requirements of the world-market. As such, the present Fokker Aerospace Group, to name only one, has been a real pioneer to bring inventions to industrialised application, remembering, e.g. the development and application of the metal to metal bonding technology for aircraft structures which became an immense breakthrough – or more recent the introduction of the two new engineered type of materials, the multi-layered hybrids, known as “GLARE‚” and the Ten Cate CETEX‚ continuous fibre thermoplastic composites, both applied in the A380, Glare as the structural shells for the fuselage and CETEX thermoplastics for large scale structural applications on the wings. Those two examples stand for several strong inventions and the continuous development effort made by BENELUX universities, research institutes and industry during the last decades. SAMPE Europe and SAMPE BENELUX are pleased to honour this strong engagement of the BENELUX universities, research institutes and industry in their efforts to become and remain leading participants in the European and World Aerospace Industry, by organizing SETEC 11 in Leiden.

The theme of SETEC 11 stating “Advanced Composites, The Integrated System” provides the link to the excellent and high developed culture of innovation and industrial realization in this area of Europe which is successfully applied by a very respectful amount of Companies and Organisations in their daily work to not only consolidate but also to expand their international market-position further. SETEC 11 attendees will be invited to witness the capabilities and results made in the BENELUX and from all other countries realized by Research Group, Test House, Universities and Industries being active in the Aerospace- and Space segment.
